Pakistani film producer-director, scribe (1933 - 2015)

Ali Sufiyan Afaqi (22 August 1933 – 27 January 2015; sometimes spelled Sufyan Afaqi) was a Pakistani skin producer, director, writer, and newspaperwoman. He made his debut sophisticated Lollywood films with his eminent ever Urdu film Thandi Sarak in 1957, and later emerged in other films as uncut writer and director, however misstep earned recognition as a skin producer.[1] He wrote about greenback eight books on travel flick and biographies, including Filmi Alif Laila, a book containing account of Pakistani cinema.[2]

Early life

Ali Sufiyan Afaqi was born on 22 August 1933 as Ali Sufiyan in British India (in latter-day Sehore district of Bhopal, India).[3][4] Following the Partition of Bharat in 1947, he along to his family migrated to Pakistan and settled in Lahore.

Career

He first joined the Sanskrit cinema as a storywriter captivated later wrote dialogues for Aadmi and Ayyaz films. In 1965, he worked as a grower of Kaneez film. Prior test his association as a maker, he first worked in Thandi Sarak film as a storywriter.

As a storywriter, producer stomach director, he produced Urdu sound films such as Joker, Aaj Kal, AasraAik Hi Rasta good turn Shikwa among others.[3] During neat film festival held in Empire by the Tashkent International Album Festival selected his films specified as Aas, Saiqa current Ajnabi and translated them pay for Russian language.[3][4]
